Ray Penton

RAY PENTON JR.
Ray has over 20 years of experience in media, advertising and the performing arts. Over this period he has been an award winning actor, a writer, director and producer. He has achieved both technical and artistic prowess moving from reporter, performer to technician, producer and director. He has conducted seminars, workshops and research projects.

Ray has produced over 80 television programs for the CBC, NTV and other clients.The programs cover all forms of subject matter including documentaries, comedy specials, performance documentaries, music videos, instructional videos and industrial promotional programs. He was Editor & General Manager of the Southern Gazette newspaper, an Editor at the Newfoundland Herald and a reporter and producer for CBC Radio. Ray is a former President of PAN, the Film & Video Producers Association of Newfoundland and is on the Board of Directors of St. Michael’s Printshop.


CAREER HIGHLIGHT
Ray won the 1982 Award for Best Actor at the Newfoundland & Labrador Drama Festival for his portrayal of John Merrick in the Avion Players production of "The Elephant Man".
